Merchant Storage & Hazardous Materials Policy

This policy applies to all inventory stored at Nexus fulfillment facilities and to all goods moving through the Tijuana / San Diego cross-border logistics corridor under a Nexus service order. Merchants are responsible for accurate product classification before the first inbound receipt.

Nexus fulfillment facilities do not accept: explosives and fireworks; compressed or flammable gases; flammable liquids with a flash point below 60°C; radioactive materials; infectious substances or untreated biological samples; firearms, ammunition, and regulated weapon components; controlled substances and cannabis products; live animals or perishable foodstuffs requiring refrigeration; counterfeit goods; and any item prohibited by Mexican or US law or by the receiving carrier.

Lithium-ion batteries (loose, in equipment, or packed with equipment), aerosols, alcohol- based cosmetics and fragrances, nail products, cleaning chemicals, nutritional supplements, and FDA- or COFEPRIS-regulated items require written pre-approval. Submit safety data sheets, UN numbers, packing group, and net quantity per unit before the first inbound.

Approved limited-quantity and Section II lithium shipments are stored in segregated racking with spill containment and are handled only by IATA/DOT-trained staff. Hazmat-labeled parcels are routed to ground services only and are excluded from air induction. Merchants must supply compliant UN-rated packaging and current labeling; non-compliant inbound shipments are quarantined at merchant cost.

Standard bays are climate-monitored with logged temperature and humidity. Pallets must not exceed 48" x 40" x 72" or 1,000 kg, must be shrink-wrapped, and must carry a legible SKU and quantity label. Loose-loaded containers incur additional handling fees.

Nexus may inspect any inbound shipment and may quarantine or refuse goods that are prohibited, undeclared, damaged, leaking, or pest-affected. Merchant must arrange removal within 10 business days of notice. Goods not removed may be disposed of in accordance with applicable environmental regulations at merchant cost.

Our facilities are monitored by 24/7 CCTV with biometric-gated dock and pick zones. Visitor access requires scheduling with the North American Logistics Desk and photo identification.

Merchant warrants that stored goods comply with all applicable Mexican and US regulations and indemnifies Nexus against fines, remediation costs, and third-party claims arising from undeclared or misclassified goods. Questions: operations@nexusfulfillment.co.
